DOOR REPLACEMENT IN THE
LONGVIEW TEXAS AREA
Many homeowners have realized that the doors currently in their homes do not provide adequate security or energy efficiency. Many other doors are just dated and need to be replaced for the sake of appearance.
Most older doors that we replace are wood. New doors are more likely to have fiberglass door slabs than any other material. Fiberglass doors will nor rot or warp like wood. They will not rust like a steel door can. The slab of a fiberglass door can be either smooth or textured. Most homeowners prefer textured because it is easy to paint. Painting a smooth finish door is a little bit like trying to paint a piece of glass.
When we replace the door in your home, we remove the entire frame and sill, or “threshold” because it is virtually impossible to get a new slab squared up and properly weatherstripped in an old frame. Many old door frames also have weather or insect damage. Ordinarilly, it is necessary to replace both the inside and outside wood trim (or “casing”) because of wear, or because the new door is slightly taller. We will use the nearest style of trim readily available to make it look nice without having to charge you for running all over town looking for materials.
New doors, whether fiberglass, steel or wood, are available in a number of panel styles with or without glass in them. We do sell a lot of full glass French style doors, most often for the back of homes, overlooking a patio. These French style doors can be ordered custom sized to replace the undersize sliding doors often used on patios. Swinging doors are ordinarily more airtight and somewhat more secure than a sliding door.
You can choose and provide a deadbolt and doorknob, or a beautiful leverset to enhance your new door. Just pick the style you like and have it there for us to install when we install your new door. We do not charge for installation of standard pre-assembled locks on pre-drilled doors, that fit the openings without changes needing to be made.
